Weir The Music
Deeply passionate about Classical music, Jonathan believes the art form is far more accessible and emotionally resonant than many listeners realize. Through performance, teaching, and curated musical projects, he strives to help audiences discover the richness, beauty, and relevance of Classical repertoire. His work reflects a conviction that anyone can find something meaningful within this tradition and that sharing that experience is among the greatest joys of being a musician.

WHY WEIR THE MUSIC STANDS OUT
Jonathan stands out as an event pianist through a rare combination of elite classical training, real-world performance experience, and a deeply intentional approach to music-making. As a substitute pianist with the Cape Symphony, he has performed alongside one of New England’s leading orchestral ensembles, bringing professional orchestral discipline and sensitivity to every setting he plays. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of The Hartt School with focused study in both piano performance and composition, and with preparatory training at the New England Conservatory under distinguished faculty, Jonathan’s foundation is rigorous, refined, and musically fluent. His performances have taken him to notable venues such as Woolsey Hall at Yale University, The Sagamore, Saint Clement Castle, and Pompponesset Inn and he performs regularly across Massachusetts, particularly on Cape Cod, for both public concerts and high-end private events.
What truly sets Jonathan apart, however, is his depth as a musical storyteller and communicator. As the founder and curator of a twice-yearly classical recital series, he designs programs around narrative, historical context, and expressive interpretation, creating performances that feel personal, immersive, and meaningful rather than purely technical. This same sensitivity carries into his teaching, where over five years of experience has helped students at all levels achieve breakthroughs in musical understanding and expression. Beyond performance, Jonathan is also an active composer and vocalist, contributing original works and musical leadership within community and faith settings, adding another layer of versatility and artistry that allows him to tailor each event with intention, nuance, and emotional impact.
